    How to generate mif file?

    Several days now, and the problem still exists——my application installed on the phone executes nothing when I click the icon(It runs well on the emulator). One reason is that there is no DLL file the application needs. I konw the mif file includes the all classes which the app needs. I also note that almost every example project needs a mif file when packed to a sis file. But there is not any mif file in the specifid directory. So every time I use the "makesis", I'll postil this commond line.Though it runs well,but the application executes nothing no the phone. SO I want to ask if there is a tool pluged in the CW to create the mif file?
    Thanks!!

    MIF is an abbreviation for Multi Image File, it contains pre-processed .svg (Scalable Vector Graphics) files.
    .mif files are generated by mifconv tool, usually invoked by the .mk file in the examples. Search for mif in the Wiki.

    I got more info about the mif file defined in symbian system. But why my app can't execute on my device.
    My application is like this:I wrote a libray to be invoked by my application. First on the emulator, it works well, and then I changed the libray's platform to GCCE, complied it and linked it. Three files were created there: .dll file, .dso and {00a000}.dso.
    At the end, I added the .dso file to my application, also I complied it to GCCE.
    All the steps were OK, But why it doesnot work on my device.
    NOTE:I have installed the all sis files the openc provides.
    Thanks!!

    .dso is the extension for .dll stubs in GCC notation. You should always use .lib extension in Symbian .mmp files, the toolchain will automatically find out when it has to use .dso instead.
    And what you should install to the device is the .dll file.
    Note that the devices are rather shy about their problems by default, apply http://wiki.forum.nokia.com/index.ph...ded_panic_code in order to get the error messages.

    Here is an example of using my library:

    &EN

    ; standard SIS file header
    #{"hello_openc"},(0xA0001314),1,0,0

    ;Localised Vendor name
    %{"Vendor-EN"}

    ;Unique Vendor name
    :"Vendor"

    ;Supports Series 60 v 3.0
    [0x101F7961], 0, 0, 0, {"S60ProductID"}

    ;Files to install
    "..\..\..\..\..\epoc32\release\gcce\udeb\hello_openc.exe" -"!:\sys\bin\hello_openc.exe"
    "..\..\..\..\..\epoc32\data\z\private\10003a3f\import\apps\hello_openc_reg.rsc" -"!:\private\10003a3f\import\apps\hello_openc_reg.rsc"
    "..\..\..\..\..\epoc32\release\gcce\udeb\mylib.dll" -"!:\sys\bin\mylib.dll"
    ;required for application to be covered by backup/restore facility
    "backup_registration.xml" -"c:\private\10202d56\import\packages\0xA0001314\backup_registration.xml"

    You should check that panic code.

    I have installed the openc/c++ plug(glib.SIS,pips_nokia_1_3_SS.sis,ssl.SIS,stdioserver_s60_1_3_SS.SIS)into my device, but the problem still exists.
