Question Verifying SIM PIN ID using J2ME

I'm creating a application that get the PIN form the user, but I have to verify if the PIN is correct. I'm working with J2ME ,is there any API that I could use to connect to the SIM and send the PIN and check with SIM card PIN ID and get a answer saying if it's valid or not?

    Not in a high-level scenario.

You would have to use the JSR 177 APDU API to send and receive packages from the SIM Card, but you need to have good knowledge of APDU protocol in order to do that.

Adding a quick guess on top of drochas suggestion...

PIN check sounds something belonging to the Sim Toolkit. For accessing that with APDU you would need to sign your MIDlet to operator domain (=partner closely with the operator in question)... so I am inclined to think that this is not possible even with APDU (which is an API not very widely available either...)
