    open Flash file

    Hi

I made a simple sis file and installed it in Nokia N73 handset.
and the sis also extracted the file in "Other\myfldr\abc.swf"

if i navigate to this folder and tries to open the abc.swf then it says "unable to open the file", but when i select the flash lite application it directs me to "Other\myfldr\abc.swf" and now if open the file then it runs smoothly.

    Question:
    1) how do i run the file directly without clicking on the flash lite application.
    2) can i able to avoid installing the files in "Other" instead i need to create custom folder and install it.

    another view:
    1) is there a way to open the file directly using J2ME, not part of J2Me application, just to launch the file.

    Cheers,
    Viswa

    Hi Viswa,

Your N73 came with Flash Lite 1.1 installed as the default player, however it seems like you have created a Flash Lite 2/3 application.

    Answers to your questions:

    1) You should create your application for Flash Lite 1.1 and use a SIS packager, KuneriLite etc.
    2) If you have created the SIS file yourself then you can alter the install location in the pkg file. If you are using another solution then you should be able to find support there.

J2ME - Yes you could launch the SWF file, however the default player will always launch and your content wouldn't be protected by DRM.

    Hi Mark,

    Thanks for your reply.

As you told, i have experimented SIS pkgng, but if i open the file directly it not running ie it could not able to associate the file with flash player, but if i tries to run thru the default flash player then it runs.

Do you have any reference links or examples for launching the swf thru J2ME?

    Cheers,
    Viswa

    Re: open Flash file

    Hi Viswa,

Open the SWF file by clicking on it will launch the default Flash Lite 1.1 player. This association is handled by a MIME type recognizer on the device, however I recommend using SIS.

Regarding Jar packagin, this is not recommended and reports are that content may not work correctly. You can google for "Jarpa Flash Lite" and see the Jarpa project.

    Re: open Flash file

    Hi Mark,

    tnx 4the reply.

When i try to open the swf thru J2ME it says "unable to open the file" maybe becoz of the FL1.1 association, but when i open the FL 2 player it plays the intro, once after finishing the same, it locates the others folder and list all the available swf in that folder, so i hv to manually go and select the files available in that folder.

how to launch the particular file once the intro played rather than user go and select the file manually?

    any ideas or suggestions

    Cheers,
    Viswa

    Re: open Flash file

Hi Viswa, this isn't possible because you have two players installed. They are handled as two separate applications on the N73.

The easiest way for you to create an installer package is to use a tool like KuneriLite or Janus and create a SIS file.

    hi
you can use flash files in the N95 by using flash players. you can download flash players from internet. For that you just need to do is go to Google and just type Nokia N95 applications.
