How can I access my local area network through Nokia N95

We have Nokia N95 mobile. We have been developing a J2ME client project to access a webservice which is deployed in my Tomcat server. When I try accessing the webservice, it is prompting for me to enter WLAN connection details. Is WLAN is mandatory to access the webservice deployed in my local machine. Can't we access the web service in a offline mode by using LAN network ?

Kindly let me know the details

Thank you very much in advance

LAN network? Do you have a network cable connecting the phone with your router?

WLAN is LAN only Wireless so you need to have WLAN support on your router and the proper access point configuration so you can access anything in you [W]LAN.

If WLAN is not accessible you can use of coursed the GSM network and its data package access point but that requires your computers to be accessible through a routable real IP address.
