A strange error. I have worked with sounds but ever seen this one. Y don't you try to play the sound on Windows Media player to check its integrity. Another thing, the sound file has to be less than 100Mb. I think the Flash player is not able to handle the variable data rate(VBR) on Mp3s that have lately come. Fl does handle VBR but i think there are certain contingencies.

Re: Bad Sound Data Error! in Flash lite2.0

Using loadSound causes Flash Lite to pass the mp3 to the phone OS sound components for playback. Therefore the sound must be compatible with the phone's sound capabilities.

Generally, you should test a sound that you intend to load with loadSound on the phone first to make sure it is formatted correctly. Then try using Flash to load it.

Does the phone's music player play this sound?
What is the file size of the sound?
What device, platform and version of Flash Lite 2 are you testing with?

    Hi

hp3 and mani tnx for the reply.
music player plays the sound and its 500kb, i'm targeting N & Eseries FL2

Now i cld able to hear the sound in the actual device, but i cld not hear it in the adobe device central it gives me the error.

    >loadsound will not work on adobe device central?
    >does all the NSeries and ESeries support Mp3 format?

    Cheers,

Re: Bad Sound Data Error! in Flash lite2.0

Device Central relies upon QuickTime to play the sound.
The device itself relies upon the phone OS to play the sound.

If you can hear the sound on the phone then it should play through Flash Lite on the phone, assuming the sound does occupy too many Flash Lite resources.

If the sound does not play through QuickTime then perhaps there is an incompatibility or perhaps the file resources are too high. Does Device Central show that the CPU usage exceeds the allowed memory for the devices you are testing on?
