    Carbide C++ and problem with HTTP connection in the Emulator

    Hi,

    I'm starting with Nokia development...

    I installed Carbie C++ v1.3 and SDK C60 3rd fp2 v1.1.

    I tried to run the Yahoo image search sample. The sample can not make HTTP connection. Also when i try to go to Emulator/File/Open URL, it return connection not available.

    I'm running the enviroment in my company where HTTP proxy is not required. So far from me investigation i learned that there is no need in this version to make any additional setup for the TCP connection in the S60 enviroment, it should just work. Is this true?

    Any suggestion what should i do?

    Thanks,
    Bogdan

    I think you should try to reconfigure your sdk because in my sdk it wil work after making a connection through winsocket

    How to reconfigure the SDK? What does it mean through winsocket?
    Does it mean that i just use windows (XP)? Should i do anything to go through winsocket?

    Make sure that the Windows firewall (or any other such software you might have) is not blocking the emulator. If no proxy is required there should be no other reason for the emulator not to connect.

    As for Carbide.c++ it has nothing to do with this issue.

    If this is making outgoing HTTP requests on port 80 then my understanding is that it should not be firewall issue, but something else.

    I installed the emulator on a different machine, and after opening URL it says : "Uncategorised 1 access point in red".

    I'm assuming this is error? How to recover? Something needs to be configured?

    I'm sorry for wasting your time. I just have to select access point in the emulator... It works now.
