Nokia 6110 Application AutoStart at Phone Power-On

Hi. I'm trying to make a MIDlet to start when the phone turns on. I was already able to make the midlet run in the background after it closes, but I need to make it start when the phone turns on. Can anyone help me? Thanks in advance.

    Hi,

This thread, although almost a year old, says it isn't possible.

    Hello

Yeap, no way to do it using J2ME, you gotta go native, maybe python could be an option

Yes, autostarting Python applications is possible, but as far as I know only for apps that are Express Signed or Certified Signed.

So, if it isn't possible, do you guys have any native Python or C code and tell me how to make it run in a my device?

Well in Python it isn't done through code. When you package the script into a sis file using a tool called Ensymble, you specify a parameter that makes the application start when the phone boots. But to do that you have to get the application Express Signed or Certified Signed, which means you have to buy a Publisher ID, which costs 200$. See www.symbiansigned.com for more info on signing Symbian apps. Note also that Python isn't native (meaning that it has to be installed on the phone in order to run Python apps).

As for Symbian C++, see this article

Do I have to sign the application to do it using Symbian C++? If I'm building the application using Netbeans IDE 6.1, where do I put the files they talk about in the website you sent me?

Symbian C++ applications are made in the Carbide.c++ IDE. If you're new to Symbian C++ programming, you should read this article thoroughly and ask these questions in the Symbian C++ forum.

That basically means the same you told me in the first answer. I can't do it using J2ME. Thanks for all your help.
