    Hi,

Sadly there is currently no way to read the contents of SMS messages in Java ME.

    Hello

When you send a normal message, it is stored in the phone inbox.
Well there is a way using J2ME of creating an SMS server that listens incomming messages addressed to a specific port (sent by another application), in this way messages are received by the application instead of the inbox. And it's up to you to handle the message, otherwise is lost.

Check out the JSR 205 for that. Wireless message API

There must be some examples here

    hi rdrincon
    just so as to clarify:
I DONT WANT TO USE J2ME TO READ THE SMS SAVED IN THE INBOX
i want to follow the following steps:
    1)go to inbox
    2)open a suitable sms(recieved previously)
3)copy some text using soft keys, navigation keys ,etc
4)go to the midlet that i created
    5)paste the text there

all i want to know is:is this possible and if yes then can anybody help me?????

So you want to do everything manually? If so, yes, it's possible. You can make a midlet with, for example, a TextBox or a TextField and paste the text which you copied from the SMS there. I might be missing something, but when I tried to copy a message I couldn't select it, I had to select the Forward option and copy it from there...
