    VS2005 crash with carbide.vs 3.0.1

    Hi!

    My computer is:

    Windows XP Proffesional SP3
    Visual Studio 2005 SP1
    Carbide.vs 3.0.1
    S60_3rd_Edition_FP2_SDK_for_Symbian_OS_V1.1

I use the wizard to make a proyect type Symbian 9, project template S60 3rd Console EXE. Without any changes in source code, when I try to debug the program VS2005 crash.

VS2005 shows me a messagen saying: Project is in different drive than the selected SDK. This can cause problems.

I can start it without debugging.

    What's happening?

You have not read the release notes. Symbian SDK-s use Perl scripts which happen to be incompatible with some characters, like : or space. So drive letters are bad guys, so are Documents and Settings, or Program Files.
The SDK and the projects have to reside on the same drive, having no spaces in the path for any of them (drive and path for VS and Carbide does not matter, and it is also OK that the SDK puts some files under Program Files, by itself).

The project must be created in the same drive as the one on which your SDK is installed. The error message has exactly indicated your problem. If your SDK is installed on D: drive, you must create your project on D: drive as well. Meanwhile, the path should not contain any space letters.

    Hi!

I uninstall and reinstall in the same drive as source code. When I make a new project with the wizard the SDK points from the last drive.

I don't know how to change the installed SDKs to point its new path.

I try with S60 2nd FP3 and it crashes VS too!

    Thanks for your support.
