    Question [moved] How can we create 2nd edition projects with Carbide 1.3

    Hi , I am a newbie here ... For my starter I have downloaded the carbide 1.3 (for eclipse) sdk provided by forum nokia , installed it into my vista machine , and am trying to create my first project . I am trying to create one sdk 2 projects here, but for all the new projects types shown in my carbide , I cannot find one that support my sdk . . Please guide me . Is Carbide 1.3 not backward compatible ?

    You can read Carbide.c++'s release notes to learn about its backwards compatibility. Although I don't think that is the proper term to use when talking about an IDE's support for some SDKs.

    You have a couple of options:
    - download and install Carbide.c++ 1.2.2
    - hack Carbide.c++ 1.3 to restore the S60 2nd Edition SDK support.

    I would advice you to go for the first option although the second one could be fun too.

    Please note that there is a dedicated Carbide.c++ forum and I'm moving this thread there.

    I have never tried S60 2nd edition SDKs on Windows Vista but I guess it might create problem.

    If you think that you need help with hacking Carbide then is better not to do it. Just download the old 1.2.2 version and use it alongside Carbide.c++ 2.0.
