    Hi, all

    I am now porting my app to s60 5.0 from s60 3.2

My app developped using only using number key pad for input number. but I must porting this app for full touch devices.

I wish to use compatibility mode in my app.
I think, It is easist way porting to s60 5.0.

I read in s60 touch ui component specification.pdf about compatibility mode. But I can`t found any information, How to using this mode.

my app use CCoeControl, MCoeControlObserver, MEikListBoxObserver
    in default avkon.

    Thank you.

Re: How to use compatibility mode in s60 5.0

I wonder which document is that exactly (please indicate document version and source) as the compatibility mode is not in fact a platform feature, or to put is this way, it is not a platform feature any more.

If you want your application to be usable on an S60 5th Edition touch enabled device then you have to implement the related event handling callbacks (not that many if you use Avkon components for your UI) and eventually think about optimising your UI for better user experience.

Compatibility mode, by design, was not supposed to be a solution but merely a workaround.

I'm going to move this thread to the S60 5th Edition Touch UI and Sensors forum, seems to be more appropriate there.

    I referd
    \S60_5_0_200834_Documentation\documentation\product_documentation\ui\ui_and_graphics\S50_Touch_UI_UI_Component_Specification.pdf
    in S60_5_0_200834_documentation.

and I found a related document
    \S60_5_0_200834_Documentation\documentation\product_documentation\design\s60\mw\classicui\uifw\avkon\akncompamode\doc\S60_5_0_Avkon_Touch_Compatibility_Mode_Designe_D.pdf.

    I found S60_SCR_STYLE_NAME3 QVGACOMPA
in \epoc32\data\wsini.ini for using compatibility mode.

But I don`t know How to enalbe this mode.

You are referencing internal documents however they are no longer valid. Do drop me an e-mail if you have further questions.

As mentioned above the compatibility mode was not intended as a porting option, but rather quite the oposite. And for better or worst it is not in use in the platform anymore.
