You can check RConnection and RConnectionMonitor, the Wiki may also contain some related articles if you search for these classes.

Re: Connection Manager in S60 2nd

    Hi,

I would like to ask if we can control other connections from our program such as: forcing them to switch to a new network ( wireless network), capturing information, etc.

I tried to use RConnectionMonitor but it only allows me to send a signal ( by setting one attribute ) to other connections to disconnect, but I do not know how to request those connections to switch to a new network.

    Please help me with this.

    Thank a lot.

Forgot to note. I am using S60 3rd SDK not 2nd.

Re: Connection Manager in S60 2nd

I was going to suggest "WLAN Control in S60 APIs" and "S60 Platform: IP Bearer Management" from FN main page (www.forum.nokia.com, Documentation/Symbian C++ on the left, Networking), but as I see there is also "S60 Platform: Access Points Example with Roaming Support" covering SNAP-s. That is the most you can get now as I know, however it still does not allow you to switch connections of other applications.

Re: Connection Manager in S60 2nd

    Hi wizard - my master,

I am trying to write an application that provides seamless wireless connection. After searching through the Internet, I found out some products featuring the same thing.

I do not know whether they could provide such smooth handover between networks, but technically, they should control how other applications use the network.

When the connection is lost ( out of range or the device finds a better network, etc. i am talking about both Wifi/3G here), it needs to switch ( disconnect/ reconnect) other applications.

I do not know if that could be possible. Please advise.

    Thanks
