16 bit reference for concatenated short messages

    Hi!
Does enybody know how to represent 16 bit reference number for concatenated short message! "CIMD and Smart Messanging" doesn't contain information about it? There is olny information about 8 bit refernece number?
For 16 bit reference we need 2 octets. Is this the same idea like in 16 pport adressing?
For instance, for 1234 and 5678 port, part of UDH (032) looks like this:
    05 04 12 34 56 78?
So there is spliting 4 digits into 2 octets! So there is no hex representation in fact!
To represent 8 bit reference we use hex. For instance
    10 is in fact 0A!

So, how to represent 16 bit reference?
    Any idea?

RE: 16 bit reference for concatenated short messages

    Hello!

GSM 03.40 specifies how this should be done. Here is one example that includes eight times the sentence "This is a long message! "
