    information of application start

    My application used to start by push registery and manually too. I used to start the application at particular interval. My question is that how can i know weather the application starts by user or by push registery.

    I want to make my application signed. After that will all the confirmation of push registery will be removed or not ?

    Re: information of application start

    Hi
    Raj and Honest you have to use
    String connections[] = PushRegistry.listConnections(true);
    if(connections.length!= 0) {
    // then this is woken up by push regestry
    }else{
    //it is manually woken up
    }

    Hope it will help to you

    Will this provide the required information even if we use PushRegistry.registerAlarm method.

    Re: information of application start

    Hi,

    I dont know have the exact link but I read somewhere suggestion made by Hartti. It stated that you get the time when your application starts and save it in RMS and you know the time when pushRegistry will be invoked through alarm. So calculate the difference if its less than registered alarm then you can assume that it was started manually and not by PushRegistry.

    For a direct way I dont think its yet possible.

    Re: information of application start

    Hi ansh.chauhan ,

    There is no way to know it is started through the registeredAlarm()
    Method You have to Implement your own way of detecting that. See this article

    http://developers.sun.com/mobility/m...icles/pushreg/

    f the call to registerAlarm()overwrites a previous timer, it returns that timer's scheduled time; if not, it returns 0.

    Note that the PushRegistry API doesn't provide a way to discover whether the MIDlet was activated by an alarm. If that knowledge is important, you must implement your own detection method. One way is to save information, such as the time of launch, in the RMS, then compare the saved time with the current time when the MIDlet is launched.

    Hope this will helps to you
