Sending URL to browser in 6600

I tried this cool trick to acces an url with builtin browser:
    http://discussion.forum.nokia.com/fo...36&postcount=6

It works fine on 6680, the browser is not even visible, although the URL is properly accessed!
But it does not work on 6600, the browser window appears, but page remains blank with "accessing web page..." written on top, and nothing happens.

I also tried a simpler e32.start_exe() to start the browser:
agaim, it works fine on 6680, but it does not on 6600.

So, how do I access an URL with builtin browser on 6600?!?

6600 is S60 2nd edition device, 6800 is S40 device. Are you using python on S40 device? Anyway they have different browsers, did you check both S60 and S40 Browsing docs?

Edit: ok so other one is 6680, which is S60 2nd Ed FP2! Sorry, can't recall what kind of changes there were in Browser API, but you better check from tech docs. I'm pretty sure that the APIs are different...

    Being slow today,

    Don't know what to check...
I was just looking to see if anybody already figured out the proper code to use to send URL to browser in 6600.

What I tried to say was that there's about two (2) years difference in the browser versions of those devices. The Browser API was developed in steps, as needed and when needed. 6680 should be backwards compatible with 6600, but it could be that 6600 cannot do what you ask...

the strange thing is that 6600 browser IS started and it attempts downloading SOMETHING... but it just locks up. So maybe it's a matter of how python passes URL argumento to browser.
