Re: unable to create sis file...

The problem may not be for .pkg file, but for one of the files you are packaging. Such errors occurs when one of the files you are packaging isn't created yet. Check the error again and see if all the files you are packaging are created in the first place.

    1. show you command makesis output.
    2. show you .pkg file details.

That number is not a random one. Check what is the 20th line of the .pkg file.

Re: unable to create sis file...

i have opened it in notepad and the 20th line is :
    "..\..\..\\Epoc32\release\thumb\urel\ListBox_Test2.app" -"!:\system\apps\ListBox_Test2\ListBox_Test2.app"
this doesn'y give me the sufficient info.
this number appear on other projects of which i want to make sis file.

    There can be two problems:
    - make sure that you have built your code to thumb
    - make sure that the relative path ..\..\.. really points to a location where the epoc32 folder of the SDK resides. If not, consider replacing the ..\..\..-s with an absolute path, like c:\Symbian\7.0s\Series60_v21

    1) (thumb)
    Have you issued
    Code:
    abld build thumb urel
from the command prompt (in the group folder)?

    2) what is the full path to your .pkg file?

Re: unable to create sis file...

    C:\work\ListBox_Test2\sis
this is the full path of .pkg file.

    after building thru cmd prompt.

    C:\work\ListBox_Test2\group>abld build thumb urel
    make -r -f "\Symbian\8.0a\S60_2nd_FP2\EPOC32\BUILD\WORK\LISTBOX_TEST2\GROUP\E

    Nothing to do
    make -r -f "\Symbian\8.0a\S60_2nd_FP2\EPOC32\BUILD\WORK\LISTBOX_TEST2\GROUP\T

    make -s -r -f "\Symbian\8.0a\S60_2nd_FP2\EPOC32\BUILD\WORK\LISTBOX_TEST2\GROUP\

    Then it is #2:
..\..\.. is not a magical rune, it is a relative path, relative to c:\work\ListBox_Test2\sis. ..\..\.. steps 3 directories back, so the result is going to be c:\. Then your .pkg file expects that there (in c:\) will be an epoc32 folder. Obviously there is no such folder, since it is in c:\Symbian\8.0a\S60_2nd_FP2

So forget the ..\..\..-s in your .pkg file, and simply replace them with c:\Symbian\8.0a\S60_2nd_FP2

So the 20th line should become
    Code:
    "c:\Symbian\8.0a\S60_2nd_FP2\Epoc32\release\thumb\urel\ListBox_Test2.app" -"!:\system\apps\ListBox_Test2\ListBox_Test2.app"
    for example.

i have done that and changed it in .pkg file but it is giving the error in 21th line, after doing this i am simply running from command prompt but nothing is happened.
    my 21th line is :
    "..\..\..\\Epoc32\data\z\system\apps\ListBox_Test2\ListBox_Test2.rsc" -"!:\system\apps\ListBox_Test2\ListBox_Test2.rsc"

Re: unable to create sis file...

replace all your pkg string "..\..\..\\Epoc32" to "c:\Symbian\8.0a\S60_2nd_FP2\Epoc32"

like wizard_hu_ said, all your pkg path is relatived

Re: unable to create sis file...

That ..\..\.. is mainly invented for examples in Series60Ex folder, but it will also work with any parallel folder with that.
Thus a solution can be moving your Work folder there, like c:\Symbian\8.0a\S60_2nd_FP2\Work\ListBox_Test2\sis. If you use this layout, the generated(?) ..\..\.. will be fine.

Re: unable to create sis file...

sir, after changing the path for other projects i have the same problem again it is showing on 20th line : file not found.
and .aif file is missing, how it is created.
is there any way to store the .app, .rsc and .aif file on the same folder.
and my .aif is not creating inspite of that aif folder is created and in that folder 3-4 .bmp files are there and in my .pkg there is apath for .aif. so, due to this when i convert it into .sis file not found error occured.
please, tell me to resolve this problem.
