    How to use Bluetooth GPS with Nokia phones

    Hi

    I have a 'tomtom' Bluetooth GPS reciever with me, and i want to use that with Nokia N80.

    can i install google maps on my phone and see my location using that.

    Can any body please tell me, how can i use that.

    I don't know about Google maps (though normally it should work, I don't think it requires a built-in GPS) but if you want to write your own application that uses a Bluetooth GPS, search the Wiki for "bluetooth gps". There are quite a few articles about this.

    The S60 Mobile Location Framework (and I presume JSR 179) isolates the application from the positioning technology used. So, just pair your BT GPS receiver with the phone, enable Bluetooth GPS in phone's positioning Settings and that's all you need to do.

    Any application using the above mentioned frameworks will be able to aquire the data.

    Nokia N80 is supporting JSR 179 Location API so you just need to do development as you are doing for internal gps. The Locational API will automatically find it. You do not need to make any extra effort for it. Just switch on bluetooth GPS and be sure that gps is fetching data.
