    '\n' char in alert

how do i use the '\n' char in an alert ?
e.g "new\nline" shown in an alert would end up like "newline".

    Actually it ends up like:
    new
    line

Please explain what you want to achieve.

This old thread talks about the same topic (and possible workarounds):

    http://discussion.forum.nokia.com/fo...ad.php?t=87757

I've tested on a Nokia E90 and the behavior is the same. I've tested the solutions provided in the previous link, but none of them worked for me..

and i have no idea what to make out of the link you posted , jappit.it seems to provide wierd bypasses which are device specific. however '\f' seemed to work on the emulator and on my n95.

    Re: '\n' char in alert

I guess "\n" works in some cases and doesn't in others. I tried it on S60 3rd ed FP2 and Series 40 5th ed FP1 emulators and it worked. I then tried on the N95 and it didn't.

    i have an n95 , too
the s60 3ed FP 1 sdk emulator ,seems to better emulate the phone's functionality , rather then the FP 2 one.
