    [moved] Does Carbide v1.3 automatically self sign the SIS

    hi

    does Carbide v1.3 automatically self sign the SIS or do i still need to create my own self signed certificate? and does it have an expiration date?

    using S60 3rd ed. no FP

    Depends on whether you want it or not. Check the signing options in the build configuration of your project.

    You don't have to create one, but you may want to do so.

    Yes, generally speaking digital certificates have a validity limit. Check the validity of the signed file by calling "signsis -o filename.sis"

    That SDK has an old version of the makekeys and does not support controlling the validity period. Look in the knowledge base for an updated version of the tool (or was it in a Symbian FAQ?).

    It would be important to know if you have any serious problems with your eyesight.
    If no, you are just annoying.
    If yes, you should re-check the dialog where you have specified the .pkg file (the short "link" can be found in http://discussion.forum.nokia.com/fo...d.php?t=150133). The lower half of that dialog is about not-signing/self-signing/signing-with-a-specified-certificate.
