    Cannot run background in Series 60

    Hi
    I try to run my midlet in background in Nokia Series 60. I use Display.getDisplay(this).setCurrentDisplay(null) but it still come to foreground. In my application, I use the timer and timer task to connect to the server for every 1 min. So, for every one minute my application appear as the foreground app. How can connect to the server quietly in my application? How can I run background my app?

    Please give me instruction.

    Thanks you for every thing

    Thumbs up Re: Cannot run background in Series 60

    Hi,
    After every 1 minute it will be coming in the foreground..right..since the time of making HTTP/Other type of connection you will be setting the midlet as displayable..

    I guess that you are drawing the midlet/canvas and opening the connection on the same thread...Am I correct..

    I guess that try to make the both task on the different thread..
    Hope these lines can be helpful,
    Thanks,
    Thanks with Regards,

    Re: Cannot run background in Series 60

    Hi,

    Call pasueApp after 1 minute and in pauseApp

    display.setCurrent(null);
    connecttoserver(); //your connecting task over here.

    This will ask you permissions for connecting to the server. You can set the permissions to be asked only once by goiong into Application Manager select your midlet and change the settings.

    Hope this helps you.
