    Smile IS Continous Recording and Upstreaming possible in J2ME?

    IS Continous Recording and live Upstreaming possible of Video in J2ME ?

    Any one tried this ? We are unable to find a nokia device which support this feature ?

    in the following code if have the network output stream will it work ?


    try {
    // Create a Player that captures live audio.
    Player p = Manager.createPlayer("capture://audio");
    p.realize();
    // Get the RecordControl, set the record stream,
    // start the Player and record for 5 seconds.
    RecordControl rc = (RecordControl)p.getControl("RecordControl");
    ByteArrayOutputStream output = new ByteArrayOutputStream();
    rc.setRecordStream(output);
    rc.startRecord();
    p.start();
    Thread.currentThread().sleep(5000);
    rc.commit();
    p.close();
    } catch (IOException ioe) {
    } catch (MediaException me) {
    } catch (InterruptedException ie) { }

    I read at many place. It is not possible to do it directly but we can first store it and then we can forward it.

    For that your device also should support rtsp I think.

    Hi abhijithvr,

    Java ME does not support simultaneous recording and uploading, since to retrieve recorded bytes you have to first commit your recording RecordControl. What you could try to do do is use more Players and Threads to alternatively record with one of them while another uploads a chunk of data.
