    IAP Selection dialog on localhost connections

    Hi,

    I am taking a connection to a socket in the localhost address, 127.0.0.1. However with some devices this causes the IAP selection dialog to pop up. No matter what selection I make, the connection still works, and so it seems it does not even use the selected IAP in any way.

    Can I somehow block the IAP selection dialog from appearing?

    Thanks,
    Mikko

    you can use auto select iap func. it code like this

    Code:
    TCommDbConnPref iPref; iPref.SetIapId(aIap); //it is you want use iap id
        iPref.SetDialogPreference(ECommDbDialogPrefDoNotPrompt);
        iPref.SetDirection( ECommDbConnectionDirectionOutgoing );
        iPref.SetBearerSet(ECommDbBearerUnknown);
        iConnection.Start(iPref, iStatus);

    Re: IAP Selection dialog on localhost connections

    Hi,

    I am using the Embedded Browser and I have overwritten the NetworkConnectionNeededL() and provide the IAP for it. The code works fine on any other addresses than 127.0.0.1 or localhost. After the selection has been made, everything works as expected.

    So the problem is that the dialog is somehow forcefully shown when connecting to a localhost address, but not for all devices. For example N95 will show the dialog, and E50 will not show it.

    Then you may want to search for browser access point in the Wiki, and check this one: http://wiki.forum.nokia.com/index.ph...Feature_Pack_1

    Hi,

    why exactly you need the IAP dialog for localhost? The behavior could differ on different devices - the E50 is much more older then N95 (MR SDK vs FP1 SDK). Anyway the browser behavior might depend also on firmware version.

    If you re-read the question, you will see that the thread is about supressing the dialog, which pointlessly keeps popping up for local/loopback connections.

    Hi,

    I have implemented the feature as the wiki document suggested. This does not, however solve my problem. In the earlier post I mentioned, that this approach works for all other addresses than localhost. If the page resides in localhost, the IAP-pop-up is always shown on N95.
