    Re: Multiline TextBox Problem

    Hi merve0189,

about your issue with multiline text: which device/emulator are you testing on? Also, which constraints are you using for your TextBox instance?

If you need an event on text change, you should try by using TextField Items within a Form displayable, together with an ItemStateListener.

    Re: Multiline TextBox Problem

    Hi,
I am testing on Wireless toolkit 2.5.2 for MIDP 2.0 device. I need letters for the constraints of that textbox. Actually, I am new at that. I do not even know which constraints I need for character inputs not numeric. I will take a look on how to use ItemStateListener with an TextField. But I don't think this is what I want. I want something like Rich Text Editor to say the truth. And I need event handler because I need to check the text that the user entered if the user wrote some text which starts e.g. http://.. if it started with that, then I need to make the next text as a hyperlink :S I hope I could tell..

I just need a document or some example which shows the usage of that textbox and events..

    Re: Multiline TextBox Problem

    Hi merve0189,

for your requirements (a rich text editor) both a TextField and a TextBox will not be adequate, since they do not allow for rich formatting. Only option for you would be to use Canvas and low level graphics to handle the whole.

The drawback in doing this is that you have to handle all the painting and key-pressed operations programmatically.

To get some help, you could check both this Wiki article:

    http://wiki.forum.nokia.com/index.ph...tom_Text_Input

and also the available Java ME UI frameworks, to see if some of them have graphic components that could help in your task:
