    Acces to Network information with J2ME

    Hi friends!

    I'm developing a personal project, i'm trying access to device properties, but in all cases the result is null.

    I've been seeing other threads,but I can not find the solution.

    Example of my code:
    LocationForm.append("IMSI:"+System.getProperty("com.nokia.mid.imsi"));
    LocationForm.append("NetID:"+System.getProperty("com.nokia.mid.networkid"));

    Can you help me?

    THX!

    Hi,

    on which device(s) are you testing this code?

    As stated on this Wiki page:

    http://wiki.forum.nokia.com/index.ph...tem_properties

    Both properties are available only on S60 3rd edition FP2 devices, and you can access IMSI only by using manufacturer/operator certificate.

    N95 is a S60 3rd edition FP1 device, so it does not support these properties.

    Re: Acces to Network information with J2ME

    Hi,

    Jappit you said that this system properties are for S60 3rd edition FP2 devices and so this wont give any value in Nokia N95. But I got this values on Nokia E50 which is S60 3rd edition initial release and that too without signing the midlet with the operator certificate or manufacturer certificate.

    We can conclude from this that this properties have different behavior on different handsets which may not be good for development purpose. By this behavior one will never be able to tell the clients the supported handsets clearly.

    One more thing I have tested the system properties on N73 too and it returned null which is. N73 is also a S60 3rd edition initial release same as E50 but system properties working properly in E50 but not in N73. What may be the reason?

    Anyways we are just developers and we can just put posts in this regard.

    Hope that issue is resolved
