Good that you got it to work!

Do you now have a web-server running on the mobile?

The connector (together with the gateway) provides HTTP connectivity to the mobile from the Internet. But, in addition to that, the only thing the connector does is to forward the HTTP request to port 80 (or some other port if you have change the settings). If nobody is listening on that port, you will see that Internal I/O error.

Start, for instance, MWS in local mode. Or actually, it does not matter even if it connects to the MWS gateway as well. You will still be able to access it via your gateway.

Re: Settings to be done to add my own gateway

    Hi johan,

    Thanx!!!!
Ok now I get the mobile content page when I run the MWS and then connect the connector to the gateway.

So by this I feel even if we have our own gateway configured we need to communicate with the nokia gateway at some point ,as we would need the MWS running in order to view the mobile contents.

Is there a possibility of being able to configure the whole thing without depending on the nokia gateway?
As I had done all this so that I wouldn't depend on any other gateway other than the one I configured.

    Regards,
    vijaya.

Yes, but you do need some web-server running on the mobile in order to fetch content from it using HTTP.

If you don't want the extra that MWS provides, you can install pamp_httpd_1_0_2.zip .

That package contains just the Apache httpd web-server together with a simple UI for starting it. Note that the httpd_1_0_2.sis, contained in that package, is exactly the same Apache web-server, which is included in MWS. In fact, if you have MWS installed, you only need to install httpdutil_1_0_2.sis and httpdui_1_0_2.sis to get the simple UI. However, you probably have to change the httpd arguments to -d "/data/web server" (the default is -d c:/data/apache).

A couple questions on this as I'm looking at moving to using my own gateway, but to continue using the rest of the MWS as it has been already packaged:

    - would the entire PAMP need to be installed, or just the two files mentioned here?
    - would the SDK be needed to change those arguments as you also state above?

    Thanks in advance

PS: if those steps could be rewritten in a non-quote-interrupted manner, that would be great

No, not those two if what you want to do is to run your own gateway, but otherwise use the functionality provided by MWS.

In that case you need to install a gateway on some PC and then install the sis-files from raccoon_connector_1_0_0.zip that you can download from http://sourceforge.net/projects/raccoon/files.

Re: Settings to be done to add my own gateway

Its been a while since looking at this. Just some questions for clairifiation - I'll rewrite my steps for the wiki once the project is over in case others want to do the same:

For using the packaged MWS but using a custom gateway
    - Install MWS
    - Install the Raccoon Connector files (located here)
    - Set the MWS to local connection

    ???
After that point I'm lost. Can any assistance on the next steps be provided? Thanks in advance.

*Am doing this on the N97, and it seems that the SDK for the MWS doesn't support this SDK version. Would I be ok in using the SDK for 3.2 and then just uploading items that way?

** Just found out my issue - no gateway - and the PC I'm using isn't stout enough to install all the needed Tomact and Java files. Its really an old laptop and just doesn't cut it beyond simple text and browsing. At this point, I'm just going to stop for the night, but yea, if the gateway connector could have been something I worked on before, this would have been easier.
