E71 problem to run signed application

    Hi,
I have signed J2me application. Certificate provided by Thawte. It installed successfully on E50, E65 devices.
But on E71 installation failed with message “Certificate error. Contact application supplier”.
    Any ideas?
    Thank you
    /Paul

Re: E71 problem to run signed application

    Hi Paul,

What is the setting in E71's Apllication Manager, is it supposed to allow installation only for signed (as in certified) applications or for all?

Java app + signing makes your question a better match for this forum: http://discussion.forum.nokia.com/fo...splay.php?f=56

Re: E71 problem to run signed application

    Hi Lucian,
All phones (E50, E65, E71) have the same Apllication Manager's settings. They are:
    Software installation - all
    Online certificate check - off.

The signed application has 3 build-in certificates they are:
    1)Thawte Code Signing CA
    2)Thawte Premium Server CA
    3)Thawte Premium Server CA
All of them are not expired.
I think the key difference between the phones is OS version.
    E50, E65 - Symbian 9.1
    E71 - Symbian 9.2
May be 9.2 has different list of root certificates?
    Any help will be apprechiated.
    /Paul

Re: E71 problem to run signed application

You can check the root certificates installed on the phones through Settings -> ... Security -> Certificates, they must be matching your application's signature.

If there are any Java specific tricks to consider I don't know. See the forum previosuly recommended.

Re: E71 problem to run signed application

    Hi Lucian,
    Thank you for your help.
I compared root certificate list on E50 and E71.
It looks like they are complitly the same.
    The only difference is
Details for Thawte certificates on E71 contains more information in compare to E50. The additional information is Public Key. Details on E50 don't have it.

I think it is not java specific issue because it is related not to application itself but to installation process.
Any way thank you for the forum URL. I'll check it too.

    Any ideas?
    /Paul
