    Hi,

I'm rather skeptical you can do something with this, especially in Java...

    Hi,

I doubt that this would be possible using j2me. I am not sure but try to go through JSR 75 File connection API. That will help you browse through the mobile but whether mobiles desktop is accessible using it and will you be able to write their the midlet icon, not sure about that.

Anyways what is the need of putting it over desktop?

    Hi sweetsweet24,

Idoubt that u can do it using J2ME or even Symbian C++ (using any direct plugin/api).
Rather you can make use of CDirectScreenAccess (symbian C++) and its related classes to draw an application icon on the standby screen and to catch all the events pertaining to that area. See if you find something similiar in J2ME

Firstly thanks you all for replying my post.

    Hi Raj!
Raj,I am not asking for background running. Now I use the Display.setCurrent(null), so I think it will work for Nokia Series 60 phone. Thanks Raj.
