    Re: jpeg decoder for symbian

    I need to decode a jpeg from a data stream, then use this raw data for opengl es as a texture.

    Input is a buffer: (char*)sample->data, decode it, and then pass it as an input for glTexImage2D

    glTexImage2D ( GL_TEXTURE_2D, 0, GL_RGB, width, height, 0, GL_RGB, GL_UNSIGNED_BYTE, data);

    Does CImageDecoder can do this?

    Moreover, I want the code would be independent if it's possible.

    How about libjpeg?

    There is at least one port to Symbian here:
    http://movino.svn.sourceforge.net/vi...libjpeg/trunk/

    Hope that helps,

    Thank so much! I have downloaded and compiled with CarbideC++. There is no problem.

    But to it can only decode jpeg from a file (jpeg_stdio_src(&cinfo, INFILE))

    Do we can create a file from a buffer?

    Thanks,

    Besides "downloading", software development often contains a part called "programming", when you write something on your own and/or modify something existing. I would suggest the later one.
    Probably that jpeg decoder reads data from the file, that is the place where you could feed your memory buffer instead...
