    Change camera capture resolution

    Hello,
    I tried to change the width and height of the video being captured from the phone's camera using "capture://video?encoding=video/mp4&width=640&height=480", from the default values, but I always get this media exception. I'm using N95.
    From what I read and understood, currently there is no phone that support resolution bigger than 176x144 being captured from the camera using Java(am I right?). So can you think of any other solution that I can use to capture a video with bigger resolution (or correct me, and there is such a phone)?
    Thanks in advance...

    Re: Change camera capture resolution

    A MediaException usually indicates that capture does not support the format you've asked for.

    Check supported formats by:

    Code:
    String supportedFormats = System.getProperty("video.snapshot.encodings");

    I can capture in MP4, but when I change the resolution I get this error.

    The resolution is a part of the format specification.

    Well, the string I got is only the formats:
    "encoding=video/3gpp encoding=video/3gpp2 encoding=video/mp4",
    and I used "video.encodings", and not "video.snapshot.encodings"

    If you get a MediaException, it means you cannot capture what you are asking for.
