    Question Carbide C++: "myproject.rsg: No such file or directory"

    Hello,

    I installed Carbide C++Express on Windows Vista. The only SDK installed is S60_3rd_FP2_SDK_v1.1
    The recommended version of ActivePerl is installed (5.6.1), and I followed all points for getting Carbide to work well on Vista.

    If I import a Bld.inf file from a example project inside the SDK or projects I have from other sources, everything works OK. I can build, create SIS, etc.

    However, when I create a new "Symbian OS C++ Project" (3rd Future Edition GUI Application) from inside Carbide's IDE and just attempt to build it without touching anything (just build what the IDE itself has generated), I get the following build errors:

    -----Error 1------

    Any help would be much appreciated.

    Re: Carbide C++: "myproject.rsg: No such file or directory"

    you should check what is going wrong with the line 156 in your Sabico.rss file.

    Re: Carbide C++: "myproject.rsg: No such file or directory"

    Sabico.rss is automatically generated by the Carbide's wizard.
    The content of the lines that report errors is (I add line number as heading):

    153 RESOURCE TBUF32 r_caption_string { buf=qtn_caption_string; }
    154 RESOURCE TBUF32 r_about_dialog_title { buf=qtn_about_dialog_title; }
    155 RESOURCE TBUF r_about_dialog_text { buf=qtn_about_dialog_text; }
    156 RESOURCE TBUF r_command1_text { buf=qtn_command1_text; }
    157

    Is there anything wrong in line 156?

    It also matters what qtn_command1_text is. The error message complains about unterminated string. Have you considered checking that?...

    Thumbs up Re: Carbide C++: "myproject.rsg: No such file or directory"

    Thank a lot,

    Actually qtn_command1_text as OK, but there was broken text further down the .rls file where qtn_command1_text is defined.
    I fixed that and now it compiles.

    The Carbide wizard let me input a line feed on a place that later created this error.

    BR/ Juan
