    Re: STIF

According to Google: Security Tools Integration Framework, some something doing something based on some XML description as I see. And the project is apparently dead for more than 2 years.
Somehow I do not think that it is implemented for mobile devices.

I love this generic questions although sometimes I wonder whether they are simple mistakes or fishing expeditions ...

I think that this is S60 test integration framework and it is included also in S60 5.0 documentation.

    Re: STIF

In my SDK Help, the only related article I get is called "Nothing found.".
However "S" can also stand for Symbian.
If you are interested in testing, you may check http://www.symbianosunit.co.uk/ for example.
You can find a list of various Symbian-related tools on http://developer.symbian.com, there Tools & SDKs, Developer tools.

    Re: STIF

STIF (S60 Test Integration Framework) is a toolkit for test case development.

It's architecture is defined by tree main modules:
    1. UI Engine: Allows to monitor test cases, updating results, initialise test execution through UI functionality. It uses Test Engine to do it.
    2. Test Engine: Executes test cases, loads test modules, executes test cases from different modules. It gets the requests from user via UI and send them to the Test Server.
    3. Test Server: Gets the requests from the test engine and call the corresponding function from the test module.

Once a test module is created to test a sowftare component, STIF allows to create new test cases and combine them, it can be used in different user interfaces, execute test cases on phone, emulator or remotelly (as in ATS system).

It's still used as a tool to test S60 API's and it used to be included in the SDK's, so I'm trying to know where can download it from Nokia's repository to be able to install it in the SDK I've downloaded ...

    Re: STIF

You can check if it happens to be present in the open source Symbian code (http://developer.symbian.org)
