    smsin folder

    Hi,

where do I find documentation of the format of the .sms files which can be copied to the smsin folder to simulate incoming SMS?

I know the emulator can simulate sending SMS from the Utilies tab, but there I am not in control of the content of the SMS message.

    BR,

    Re: smsin folder

    Hi,

I captured an outgoing SMS message from the emulator (FP2) in the smsout folder. Not a format which can be easily read? How do I create such SMS files? See attachment.

What do you need exactly? If you copy files from smsout to smsin, they get delivered to the emulator. Though they remain to be outgoing messages ("To:" address header).

    Re: smsin folder

    Hi wizard_hu_,

In the end I would like to simulate incoming SMS on a port number in the emulator (they need to have specific content and come from a specific sender address). Also I would like to simulate incoming text SMS from a specific address. Content here is not so important. So basically I would need the format of the .sms files, such that I can write a tool myself to create these files or use an existing tool.

I just downloaded Nokia Connectivity Framework 1.2, but this somehow does not seem to be related. At least no S60 3rd Edition SDK is mentioned in the documentation to be compatible. Also it does not run on my PC correctly (maybe wrong version of JRE ?).

Anyhow it would be interesting to know if Nokia Connectivity Framework 1.2 is supposed to work with S60 3rd SDKs?

I am sorry, but I cannot disclose too much info as I work on a project under NDA.

In S60 5th SDK there is a page about "smsin". It says:

Supported SMS specification is GSM 03.40 version 7.4.0 Release 1998.

Supported MMS specification is MMS WAP-209-MMSEncapsulation Protocol.

    Thanks for your help anyhow,

    Rene
