    5th Edition adaptive search

Is the adaptive search functionality limited to listboxes that cover the full application area? I've been trying to implement it with a listbox that covers approximately half the available area, and if I attach the adaptive search object to it, it always takes over the rest of the space too.

Edit: wait, does every type of search box do this? Or am I doing something wrong?

That is simple - you can create a container that will store your search field and list and set it's size to e.g. 1/3 of the screen. That'll do the trick with positioning controls for you, but I'm not sure about displaying adaptive search buttons...
