For those of you that come straight to the Discussion Boards: Nokia and Forum Nokia are sponsoring the NFC Forum Global competition 2009, more details below:
The Goal of the NFC Forum Global Competition is to promote the development and deployment of innovative and exemplary NFC services. For both commercial and research developers, the competition is more than just an opportunity to win an award. Finalists and winners may look forward to global media coverage, increased awareness among attending industry leaders and venture capitalists, and opportunities to forge partnerships and share ideas. Finalists will present their applications during the WIMA 2009 summit (link to the event: http://2009.wima-nfc.com/content/home/homeUK.php), and winners of each track will receive cash prizes to be announced.
The competition has two tracks: Commercial and Research. The Commercial Track is for business ideas that address a specific market, business or consumer need or want. The Research Track is open to the academic community, including university student teams and research institutions.
This global challenge is running for the third time to promote NFC amongst the growing NFC developer community . It is the only one of its kind and got over 50 entries in 2008. More information about the competition can be found here: http://www.nfc-forum.org/competition.
Forum Nokia and NFC Forum are promoting technical / business sessions to inspire developers with ideas and details on NFC development and the competition itself. Check out the technical sessions in our events page, and the Webcast brief on the competition here. The webcast will be held on January 27, 2009.
