    Question Problems with getting the Sensor stuff working on the 5800

    Hello,

    I'm trying to write a game using sensor controls on the Nokia 5800. I'm having problem even to get the API working. Basically the game crashed on call to CSensrvChannelFinder::FindChannelsL().

    I can't even get the SensorExample_5thEd example to work because I get a "Requested application access not granted" error message on trying to install. Below is my code snippet.

    //Construct a channel finder.
    CSensrvChannelFinder* channelFinder;
    channelFinder = CSensrvChannelFinder::NewL();
    CleanupStack::PushL( channelFinder );

    //List of found channels.
    RSensrvChannelInfoList channelInfoList;

    TSensrvChannelInfo channelInfo;
    channelInfo.iChannelType = aChannel;

    //Find the channel
    channelFinder->FindChannelsL( channelInfoList, channelInfo );

    CleanupStack::PopAndDestroy( channelFinder ); // finder not needed any more

    Has anyone got the accelerometer sensor working for this phone ? Help please.

    Regards,

    Luan.

    If you have an installation issue that has nothing to do with the API usage so you should rather post some information about the capabilities declared in the MMP file (for Sensor access minimum ReadDeviceData) and the certificate you use for signing your application (self-signing wouldn't work).

    "Requested application access not granted"
    Hint: Check that your certificate can be used to sign all capabilities needed by your application. For example, if you use self-signed certificate, you can only sign basic set capabilities, i.e. NetworkServices, ReadUserData, WriteUserData, LocalServices and UserEnvironment. If your application requires one of the extended capabilities, for example SwEvent, you cannot sign it with self-signed certificate. In this case, apply for developer certificates from Symbian Signed.

    OK, thanks. I'll try updating the dev certificate. I've been using the same one for the last 18 months without problems.

    Or just check you MMP file, the problem could very likely be there.
