    oma wap provisioning question (set SIP profile without Wlan profile)

    Hello,

    I am using the OMA WAP provisioning (WBXML) to set the SIP/VoIP/WLAN.

    for the SIP:
    Code:
    <characteristic type="APPLICATION">
    	<parm name="APPID" value="w9010"></parm>
    ...
    <parm name="TO-NAPID" value="my_wlan_id"></parm>
    ...
    the value 'my_wlan_id' is defined later in the WLAN profile as
    Code:
    <characteristic type="NAPDEF">
    	<parm name="NAME" value="my_wlan_name"></parm>
    	<parm name="NAPID" value="my_wlan_id"></parm>
    ...

    If i don't set the wlan-ap in the provisioning: just only SIP/VoIP profile,

    I have tried to use the NAPID in the Device Management, e.g. 'APId005' as:
    Code:
    <parm name="TO-NAPID" value="APId005"></parm>
    where 'APId005' is the NAPID of the WLAN-AP.

    After provisioning, there is a new SIP and VoIP profile defined in my device, but the SIP profile has not defined Access pointer, therefor can't register on one SIP- server.

    My question is, how to set the 'TO-NAPID' in the SIP profile without WLAN profile?

    Thanks

    Regards

    Pai

    Code:
    <parm name="TO-NAPID" value="INTERNET" />
    Does that help? This should be the reference to the default (current/unknown) access point.

    Re: oma wap provisioning question (set SIP profile without Wlan profile)

    No, it doesn't work.

    Now my solution is: delete the WLAN AP, which has been defined, at first.

    And using XML for VoIP-, SIP- and WLAN-Settings with local client provisioning.

    Can you explain a bit more in detail? Which phones (Series, Editions, Feature Pack) do you use? I am using such a (WB)XML configuration without WLAN access point without any problems so far. By the way, for debugging perhaps this helps. Another option is to buy technical support (via the eStore) and discuss this issue with Nokia personal.

    Hello Traud,

    I am testing OMA OTA on Symbian S60 3rd Edition/FP1.

    Could you explain me, how your VoIP Client selects the WLAN accesspoint automatically?

    After provisioning, my SIP Profile has blank for the WLAN AP, and VoIP Client can not start to register on SIP server automatically.

    Do you mean APPLICATION/AUTOREG? Sorry, I did not play with automatic registering, yet.
