    Container Class + View Class?

    Hi,

i inserted a new "UI Design" to my project. My design was empty so that means the container type is "Basic Container (CCoeControl)".
Carbide.c++ 2.0 inserts a class derived from CCoeControl and one derived from CAknview. Why two classes?

Because this is how the Avkon view architecture works.
As in all cases, CCoeControl-s function as the rendering part, and consumers of "direct" FEP/keypad/pointer events.
And the CAknView-derived classes function as "mini AppUi"-s (having separate HandleCommandL for example) of each view.
As usual, you can read more about views in the Docs section above, Documentation, Symbian C++, UI.

Re: Container Class + View Class?

    Hi,

i found (some days ago) an explanation from "http://www.forum.nokia.com/document/Cpp_Developers_Library/GUID-BDDDF68F-F7C3-43AF-8B6C-C77C701FD2A9.html" with the statement: "...is implemented either with a CCoeControl derived class or a CAknView derived class..." so i was suprised that not "or" but "and" was realized.
