I have a messaging application using WLAN in S60 3rd. I used TCP to connect and send/receive messages from the other peer.
I would like to modify it so that it can send messages to more than one device.
So my plan is to join a multicast group so I can send the message to more than one device. I learned that it is only possible with UDP as TCP does not support 1:many connections. So I am planning to change my code and use UDP instead. I have searched the forum but I can't find a thread that has some relevant solution.
My question is, Is it possible to send messages to other devices (1:many) using a multicast address?
If so, how? How do I join/connect to a multicast group?
Any help is greatly appreciated.
