    Unhappy App Exits while calling GPS method

    Hi all,
    I am developing one GPS application in which the phone exists after asking for confirmation of "access GPS" , but before i can press yes or no application exists.
    I have also tried to track/debug through RMS but , every time the instructions executed are different.

    >> sometimes the GPS thread which has Location.getLocation method doesn't even get called

    >>sometimes it gets called but doesn't reach to this statement.

    can any one help me with this problem or anyone has faced same kind of problem while developing GPS application?

    Thanks in Advance......

    you could start by checking the panic/leave code: http://wiki.forum.nokia.com/index.ph...ded_panic_code

    The post from symbianyucca reffers to a symbian app. Sort of missunderstanding.

    1. Please tell us, what phone are you using
    2. What do you mean with:
    I have also tried to track/debug through RMS but , every time the instructions executed are different
    3. Could you post some relevant code.

    Re: App Exits while calling GPS method

    Note that Utilities is class used in below code,which is using RMS to store the output and works fine with other parts of application in adding, deleting, updating records.

    Model No: Nokia 5800 XpressMusic

    Code:
    Code:
    // constructor of class
     public InternalGPS() {
            Utilities.log("Constructor 1");
            initialize();
            Utilities.log("Constructor 2");
     }
    // initialize internal gps and criteria
      private void initialize(){
             // define criteria for GPS settings
            Utilities.log("Initialize 1");
            Criteria cr=new Criteria();
                try {
                    lp = LocationProvider.getInstance(cr);
                    Utilities.log("Initialize 2");
                    initializeGPS();
                } catch (LocationException ex) {
                    Utilities.log("Initialize Ex1");
                    ex.printStackTrace();
                }
        }
    // starts a thread for device with Inbuilt GPS
     private void initializeGPS(){
            Utilities.log("InitializeGPS 1");
            gpsThread=new Thread(this);
            Utilities.log("InitializeGPS 2");
            gpsThread.start();
            Utilities.log("InitializeGPS 3");
            running=true;
        }
    // run method
      public void run() {
            Utilities.log("Inside Run");
        }
    so I have output in first run

    1)
    Constructor 1
    Initialize 1
    Initialize 2
    InitializeGPS 1
    InitializeGPS 2
    InitializeGPS 3
    Constructor 2
    but not showing "Inside Run" ,please note that class InternalGPS implements Runnable so thread must start in this case.

    in second run

    2)
    Constructor 1
    Initialize 1
    Initialize 2
    InitializeGPS 1
    InitializeGPS 2
    strange!!!!! I don't know how each time it shows different output

    3)
    something different......

    can anyone please help me........
