How to get IMSI number using j2me applications ?

    Hi All,

I am trying to get the imsi(International Mobile Subscriber Identity) Number using j2me application.I saw some postings about this issue, they have used System.getProperty("com.nokia.mid.imsi") for nokia mobiles. Are there any jar files or api to solve this problem. Please help me with a link where I can get a solution for this.

The platform request for this varies with phone vendors. This again various for their platform. So be sure u have a list of phone u are working with and get it tested..

In sony erricson u can get with...

    System.getProperty("com.sonyericsson.sim.subscribernumber")

for nokia it is (this is probably for s60 devices only)..not sure

    System.getProperty("com.nokia.mid.imsi")

one page that might interest u is..

The System property com.nokia.mid.imsi could be used : The IMSI (International Mobile Subscriber Identity) stored in the SIM card. Note that the access to this system property is limited with com.nokia.mid.Mobinfo.IMSI permission. By default this permission is available only in manufacturer and operator domain.
In most cases getting your MIDlet signed to manuacturer domain is difficult. It requires close partnering with Nokia and MIDlet shall be either Nokia branded or implemented by Nokia.

More info on System properties is available here
