    WML 2.0 MIME media type

    Dear WML Experts,

    WAP-238-WML-20010911-a.pdf defines:

"WML2 documents are identified by the MIME media type "application/wml+xml"."

However, WAP-236-WAESpec-20020207-a.pdf tells us, that application/vnd.wap.wml+xml is the MIME media type for WML 2.0 as long as application/wml+xml is not registered by the IANA. Some minutes ago, I've checked the IANA media types directory. application/wml+xml is still not registered.

The NMIT 3.1 only supports application/wml+xml but not application/vnd.wap.wml+xml. Can I expect the same behaviour for the real Nokia WAP 2.0 compliant browsers in mobile phones?

    Best regards,

    Rainer Hillebrand

RE: WML 2.0 MIME media type

    Hi!

MIME types for XHTML content are

    text/html
    application/xhtml+xml
    application/vnd.wap.xhtml+xml

Nokia 3650, which has WAP 2.0 compliant dualmode browser, supports all of these three MIME types. For additional information, please see Nokia WAP Phone MIME types document at Forum Nokia web site, http://www.forum.nokia.com/main/1,35452,1_1_15,00.html#phones

    Kind regards,
