My own mobile phone number or IMSI or IMEI using J2ME

    Hello All,

Can I access my own mobile phone number or IMSI or IMEI or anything else which is unique for every subscriber, using J2ME? If yes then how? I am using Nokia N70.

    Thank
    Prateek

There is no way of getting the phone number.

IMSI can only be retrieved by MIDlets signed in operator or manufacurer domain by using the system property com.nokia.mid.imsi. Note that is might not work on all phone models, just on newer ones.

How to get IMEI in Java ME

You cannot get anything which is unique to subscriber in J2ME.

If you are looking for some thing unique to your phone and if your phone supports JSR 82 Bluetooth API(Yes, N70 supports JSR82), you can use getBluetoothAddress() It retrieves the Bluetooth address of the local device. The Bluetooth address will never be null. The Bluetooth address will be 12 characters long. Valid characters are 0-9 and A-F.

I do not recommend it because:
    1. AFAIK, it is not possible to get Bluetooth address without switching ON bluetooth
    2. Obviously limited to only those devices which have JSR 82

    Hi, guy's,
I think that if there is no solution around for a problem, and doing something you can fix that (Though on the limited devices),it is good.
    Thanks with Regards,
