    Failure compiling CS Help

    Hi,

I'm not able to compile cs help anymore.

I belive that this has something to do with MS Office Word update. When I open and save old rtf (compiles ok) with current MS Office Word, rtf filesize goes up with 40% and it doesn't compile anymore. Current: Word 2003 (11.8169.8172) SP3.

cshlpcmp returns with following error message:
    <Section level="0"> tags may only contain <p style="comment"> and <section level="1"> tags. Currently:- <p>013f</p>

Critical Error at C:/Symbian/9.1/S60_3rd_MR/epoc32/tools\cshlpcmp\perl/csptmlfl.pm line 487

I have tryied using Openoffice, and rtf written by it compiles but results doesn't work.

    Re: Failure compiling CS Help

    Hello,
have you tried creating help in Carbide ?
If you create new project without UI Designer just "GUI Application" carbide will prepare help files for you to generate .hlp files.
You can there write your own help in Carbide.

I used to play with helps wrote in office but it was just to much of work than it is worth.

    good luck

Thanks for your advice. I will investigate this approach as soon as I have time.

Compiling from rtf isn't actually very convenient and moreover it is far from usable for somebody whose mind isn't perversed by symbian coding (those who actually do the writing of manuals).
