    Block applications

    Hello,
I want to block execution of certain application. When the user clicks on the exe my dialog should go up saying "Blocked application". The application could be something like a calculator, a browser, notes etc....
Could someone please guide me on how to achieve this functionality.

    Thanks in advance..

    Re: Block applications

You can always monitor process list and when new application will be launched, check it with your black-list and after that if app must be blocked - close it and show "Blocked application".

Do you want to block applications Or close applications ???
If u want to close applications, then u can do it as said by A.A.M.
AFAIK, blocking some app for some time is not possible.

    Re: Block applications

    Sorry for the late reply.
I want to close the application.
The method suggested before requires contineous polling to the Application List.
Is there any notification for application launch or application change that I could implement.
I would then just be able to implement that notification and then check for the Application List. I would avoid poling if ther is any notification my application could get.

You could always monitor focus changes and check UID of foreground application with your black-list and after that if app must be blocked - close it.

See in Wiki: Capturing foreground events

I am afraid that you would pass through from Symbian signed process. On the first place, why do you want to BLOCK system applications? You should not interfere users from using system applications.
