Question 64Bit OS Compatibility of Dev Tools

    Hi,
I am getting a 64bit OS and I want to know of which 64bit OS is compatible with SDK/IDE development environment XP64, Vista64 or Windows7? Or Do I need to keep a XP32 partition around?

Re: 64Bit OS Compatibility of Dev Tools

64-bit machine should not stop using the SDK/IDE.

We also had 64-bit machine, but we had 32bit XP OS on those machines - We had not issues with SDK/IDE.

We can update about the 64-bit OS on 64-bit machines later.

Ok, sounds good. I will create 32bit xp parition just in case and if all goes well, I will remerge or use it for data.

    Thanks!

Series 40 6th Ed SDK/IDE works on 64-bit OS WinXp, however there is a warning message displayed which launched the emulator and during installation which can be ingored and continue to use as required as in 32-bit OS.

Re: 64Bit OS Compatibility of Dev Tools

64-bit WinXP OS is supported by Series 40 SDK with below instructions:

    1. Install 64bit OS on the 64 bit machine
    2.Install the sdk
3.When we try to start the sdk there will be an dialogue box appearing saying that its not able to find the MSVCR71.dll .
4.MSVCR71.dll is available in the C:\WINNT\system32 folder
5.Copy MSVCR71.dll to the bin folder of the sdk.
6.Then the sdk works fine and even app dev will be successful.
