LBS mobile app. project and symbian os

    Hi

I am doing a final year project on a mobile application which detects the users location and based on the users location performs some calulations and then triggers alert. As I am short of time and my programming skills are not very good. I have some knowledge of J2ME and I have NOKIA N95 on which I could test the application.

My QUESTION is that is it possible to write the application using J2ME for symbian OS? using S60 sdk?

Sorry if its not very clear.

    any feedback will be appreciated.

    Thanks
    Afsheen

    Thanks, that was helpful

    Another QUESTION

As i am developing it for a N95 handset. it already cosists of 'maps' and 'GPS data' so for my project do i need to include these modules again in my application or is there anyway i could link it up? so that based on the GPS DATA it performs specific calculations?

You can't access the maps in the Nokia Maps application, if that's what you're asking. The GPS data that the GPS receiver provides, you can get through the location APIs.

    Hi,

I'm not sure what kind of "calculations" you are looking for, but you can use any one of a number of APIs to get map images and perform routing and geocoding in a JME application. Take a look at deCarta and MapTP.
