    Could anybody help me test a simple plugin example: echowindow in 5800XM?

    Hi,

    The echowindow example about Qt plugin framework can run under emulator, but it cannot load the plugin in a read device(my 5800XM). The example's source code had been sent to QtS60-feedback, one of them replied he could load the plugin signed by his RnD certificates. But mine still not work. So, I post this example's source code here, and hope anybody kindly help me check whether it can work indeed.

    This example is not contained in Qt4.5-garden, it can be obtained from other Qt release.
    Please click the following link to download this example which contains modifications made by me(see Test_Readme.txt file in it for more). After having downloaded it, import .pro file into your Carbide.c++ workspace. And then compile and sign it with your certificates. And then test and report your result...

    == My environment ==
    * Qt SDK: Qt4.5-garden
    * S60 SDK: S60_5th_Edition_SDK_v1.0
    * IDE: Carbide.c++ 2.0
    * OS: WinXP(SP2) over vbox

    Thank you all in advance.

    Best regards,
    Dou

    Hi Dou,

    You can also try Remote Device Access service.

    Cheers.

    I wonder whether the Qt runtime package(about 4Mb) installed in RDA devices or not. I will give it a try. Thank you.

    The test result in RDA 5800XM is not delightful. It cannot work also.

    Here is a screen snapshot of it.

    Hi,

    Qt documentation mentions that:

    When loading plugins, Qt checks the build key of each plugin against its own configuration to ensure that only compatible plugins are loaded; any plugins that are configured differently are not loaded.
    This means that also the build mode [debug|release] information is part of the build key for plugins, and loading will fail if the key doesn't match. Garden release comes with udeb binaries for the device - so try doing a debug build for both the plugin and the test app for device as well (if you haven't tried that already).

    Your answer is valuable. It works with a debug build. It's a build version mismatch problem between Qt runtime(udeb) and my app(urel). Thank you very much indeed.
