[moved] can not install application in emulator

    Hi Everybody,

    I'm a newer developer on symbian c++.

I download an application "ChoiceList_S60_5th_v_1_0_0.sisx" from the below links.
    http://wiki.forum.nokia.com/index.ph..._UI_components

But when i used emulator to open the sisx file, it turn back "Requested application access not granted". why?

I just install the software one by one and do nothing change for their configure.
Do i need to change any configure? and how?

    can anybody help me?

    my develop enviroment:
    ActivePerl-5.6.1.635-MSWin32-x86.msi
    jre1.6
    SDK5.0 with Emulator: S60_5th_Edition_SDK_v0_9_en
    Carbide_cpp_v2_0_en

    best regards.

Re: can not install application in emulator

did you get/do a winscw build sis file with certificate that has emulator UID on it ?

Otherwise, just build the project with your Carbide, and get it to the emulator that way..

Re: can not install application in emulator

    thanks for reply

now i only have the sisx file, no source code.
how can i install the sisx file in emulator?

i can create a project in carbide and build with winscw and run in emulator successfully.
but when i create another project build with phone release gcce and make sisx file, this sisx can not install in emulator.

is the emulator only can run the application build by winscw?

    check the wiki page: http://wiki.forum.nokia.com/index.ph...-_S60_Touch_UI

and download the : http://www.forum.nokia.com/piazza/wi...ChoiceList.zip file, it seems to have source codes inside the zip.

Yes, that is correct. The GCCE/ARMV5 builds are for the ARM processor of the device, the emulator does not undertand those binaries. That is why you have the WINSCW target, which builds for emulator and only for the emulator.

Do you mean someone else? If so then you should zip your project and send to him and he will unzip in his computer and build from there and test it.

You can use On-Device Debugging from Carbide.c++. You need to build for Phone Debug(GCCE). To see how you should proceed, check this article: On device debugging - screencasts

Re: [moved] can not install application in emulator

You can build a SIS file which contains the WINSCW version of the files. Or make a zip with the same files presuming that you know where they are and where they are supposed to be copied.

Which files should be copied that's something that you should know (or you will learn) by the time you have something to send.

Just use the build configurations from project properties of your project in carbide.c++

this means you will not get a valid IMEI for Emulator you have to use Device. and on device you have to use dev cert or OpenSigning.
