Message popup if IMPLICIT List element is selected?

    Hello,

i would like to implement an automatic Popup if a Listelement is selcted. For example, i use a
Nokia N81. In the main screen (Where the battery status and these thinks are displayed) is a List
with contacts, SMS... you only have to select one Listitem and the Popup whith a short description is displayed
for around 1 second. These are the Popups i want to use. What kind of Element is it? Is this kind of Popup usable
    for every IMPLICIT List?

    Best regards

Thumbs up Re: Message popup if IMPLICIT List element is selected?

    Hi,
can u tell me that the items u want to show in list are static or dynamic in nature?
If they are static ie number of items in list are fixed then i suggest u to append string items on Form and to implement with ItemsStateListener. Whenever the state of item changes it automatically calls itemStateChanged(item) function where u set alert for each item which is currently selected for 1 sec or more with description.

Else better to take canvas for customised UI.
    thanks,

Re: Message popup if IMPLICIT List element is selected?

    Hello,

the items in the list are implemented if the object of the class is created. There is only a
    explicit refresh possible.
The problem with the alert is that it appears on the whole screen. Maybe Popup is the wrong
word for what i want to have. What i want is like a tooltip in windows, you put your mouse over an icon and a small
tooltip appears (No click or something else is needed).
    Any ideas?

Sorry, High level API dont give so much flexibility to show UI according to us. Whatever u want to do is not possible with High Level API yet. You have to use low level canvas for customizing UI.
