Watching for incoming messages is obviously possible, you can find examples on all parts of FN (DiBo, Wiki, Docs above - select Symbian C++, Messaging).
The second part is hazy, what kind of password you want to set?

    Re: Sms Password Protection

Is your question about all SMS messages, or you want to do that for a specially formatted one? In this latter case you may simply encode the SMS (even applying simple Base64 encoding already renders unreadable a message for the ordinary user), and have your own code to display it, after requesting the password.

Try Finding which application is in Foreground(you can find out using the wiki code). then when inbox in foreground you can ask for Passcode.
